Assalaamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakaatuh,
Jazak Allaahu Khayran for your eagerness and open-heartedness in this important concern regarding the deen.
Surely, many others before you have turned a blind eye to the concept of Bid'ah and left with their intent to act upon their deires instead of true guidance and knowledge, due to arrogance and forgeting that our purpose in life is to worship Allaah alone, and nothing else.
"Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Verily, my Salat (prayer), my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allah, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). " [Qur'an, 6:162]
And in the matter of innovations, the Prophet (PBUH) said:
"I have left you upon clear proof , its night is like its day, no one deviates from it except one who is destroyed, and whoever lives long from amongst you will see great controversy. So stick to what you know from my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the orthodox, rightly-guided caliphs - cling to that with your molar teeth, and stick to obedience even if it is to an Abyssinian slave, since the believer is like a submissive camel, wherever he is led, he follows" [Ahmad (4/126), Ibn Maajah (no. 43), al-Haakim (1/96) and others - Hasan]
The following fataawa are regarding the issue of Raising one's hands after every fard prayer and their labelling as an innovation.
These are all highly educated people in the deen and amongst the greatest of our scholars from this century and the last. I would advice all of you to refer back to these sites whenever in doubt regarding any matter or general knowledge regarding the deen and find all answers here in accordance to the Qur'am and Sunnah.
InshaAllaah, we ask Allaah to make us amongst the people of Jannah, those upon the middle path and the only true guidance of Allaah and his Mesenger (PBUH).
I am forwarding this email to all those who may have concern regarding this matter. I advise you to raise this matter to all those who may not be aware of its seriousness. Please get back to me if you have any questions.
Barak Allaah Feekum.
